Situated in Deer Park, near Rufford Abbey, the accommodation is suitable for groups and families of up to ten plus an infant. It is popular with families celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, groups of couples, reunions, cycling groups, golf parties, groups of friends, wedding guests, families with dogs, walkers, ramblers and twitchers.
The property is surrounded by farmland and fields, and being part of Deer Park it has free roaming herds of deer which can often be seen at dawn. This creates the ideal setting for a retreat, with natural peace and quiet if you want it, for wellness, wellbeing, relaxation and meditation breaks.
For those looking for more active breaks there is a multitude of options including go-karting and off-roading at Lockwell Hill, a high wire tree-top experience at Go-Ape, archery to zorbing at Adrenalin Jungle which is also popular for its paintball, a theme park at Wheelgate Park and a petting zoo at White Post Farm.
Sherwood Forest is an ancient woodland, much of which is now protected, and home to the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and Art and Craft Centre. The Major Oak, famous for being a meeting place for Robin Hood and his merry men, still stands with some assistance close to the Visitor Centre and is well sign posted along one of the many public footpaths.
