As owners of a self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of Sherwood Forest, we identified the need for a forum where holiday home owners could share their experiences and knowledge, and ask questions openly about anything to do with the successful running of their business.

We came to the conclusion that the best place for this would be Facebook and so we went ahead and created a fan page and subsequently a closed group.

The fan page is visible to anyone and can be used to promote your holiday home completely free of charge, whilst the closed group is specifically for owners wanting to engage in direct conversation with other owners.

Rufford Abbey Virtual Tour

One of the most popular attractions when visiting Sherwood Forest, and for guests of our nearby self-catering holiday home, is Rufford Abbey Country Park.

The extensive grounds provide 150 acres of woodland, meadow and gardens, along with a lake feeding a water mill. There is plenty to do for children and adults alike, with gift shops, restaurants and cafes offering a wide range of souvenirs and local produce.

Many people now look for accommodation with hot tubs in the search for some much needed rest and relaxation during their getaways, but do they always turn out to be what you are expecting?

Their popularity means many cabin style lodges and log cabins have added tubs which can range from the smaller domestic spa to wooden barrel style tubs, but when you are paying a premium for this facility do you really want to spend your time away in something you might keep fish in at home, when you deserve the real thing?
