Plan Your Stay With Our Floor Layouts

Most properties do not provide floor layouts to help you plan ahead and visualise the space you will be staying in, leaving you to book their accommodation based on a few photographs and the number of beds available.

Here at The East Wing, Rufford Park Lodge, we have gone the extra mile to create a full ground and first floor plan of the accommodation so that you don’t waste any of your precious vacation time figuring it all out on arrival.

Instead, you can pre-order a grocery delivery and decide who is sleeping in which bedroom ahead of time. All you need to do on arrival is put the Prosecco in the fridge and decide whether to relax around the log burner and watch a movie, or treat yourself to a soak in the hot tub!

Dedicated Site For Holiday Home Owners

As owners of a self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of Sherwood Forest, we identified the need for a forum where holiday home owners could share their experiences and knowledge, and ask questions openly about anything to do with the successful running of their business.

We came to the conclusion that the best place for this would be Facebook and so we went ahead and created a fan page and subsequently a closed group.

The fan page is visible to anyone and can be used to promote your holiday home completely free of charge, whilst the closed group is specifically for owners wanting to engage in direct conversation with other owners.

The East Wing at Rufford Park Lodge, is a holiday let in the heart of Sherwood Forest in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

Situated in Rufford, near Edwinstowe, the accommodation is suitable for families and groups of up to ten plus an infant. It is popular with families celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, groups of couples, reunions, cycling groups, golf parties, groups of friends, wedding guests, families with dogs, walkers, ramblers and twitchers.

Relaxation Breaks

The property is surrounded by farmland and fields, and being part of Deer Park it has free roaming herds of deer which can often be seen at dawn. This creates the ideal setting for a retreat, with natural peace and quiet if you want it, for wellness, wellbeing, relaxation and meditation breaks.

For those looking for more active breaks there is a multitude of options locally including go-karting at Amen Corner, a high wire tree-top experience at Go-Ape, off-roading at Lockwood Farm, archery to zorbing at Adrenalin Jungle which is also mainly known for its paintball, a theme park at Wheelgate Park and a petting zoo at Whitepost Farm.

Newark town centre is around 25 minutes away by car and is also the nearest main train station.

Welcome to Rufford Park Lodge, situated in Sherwood Forest and within what used to be the grounds of the historic Rufford Abbey Estate where it served as a Hunting Lodge for the head gamekeeper. 

Located in the centre of an historical area with something for everyone and enough to keep even the most active of people busy, no matter how long your stay. There are many sites of historical interest, great parks that can be appreciated on foot or bike, attractions for all ages, inns with reputations for great food, and some excellent restaurants.

Accommodation comprises a double en-suite bedroom on the ground floor , two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor. There are two reception rooms on the ground floor – a dining room with an extendable oak table that seats up to ten people, and a lounge with reclining leather sofas, a Sony 42″ Flat Screen TV with surround sound, and Sky+ HD. Wifi is also provided for your convenience.
